Pedagogical Statement:
By observing the natural design found in the intricacies of various flowers and plants, Flower Clvb seeks to deconstruct implicit aesthetic bias and unconscious ways in which standards of beauty are delegated and imposed. Through offering immersive educational opportunities, Flower Clvb hopes to begin reconstructing notions of beauty by considering the variety of colors, textures, patterns, shapes, flaws and mysteries that make up all living things. Flower Clvb sees plants as teachers and the garden as a classroom where individuals gain a new aesthetic perspective and further invoke gratitude, care and compassion for the earth among all the living organisms who share it.
Flower Clvb manifests its pedagogy through its educational offerings including gatherings and youth garden programs. To learn more about each of these offerings, visit the following links: Gatherings or Garden Clvb
