Flower Sprouts welcomes children into the bountiful world of art and nature. Children who participate in the Flower Sprouts program not only engage in essential art making skills but also learn to honor the earth and its seasons through cultivation, care and creating in partnership with the land. Each participant will receive an apron and custom patch upon the completion of each 6 week session. There will be 4 sessions total throughout the school year (2 fall and 2 spring). Can’t make all four sessions? No big deal, sign up for individual 6 week sessions as you are able.

During the first 6 weeks, children will learn:
How to draw from observation
Identify various seasonal plants and native flowers
Mix and paint colors to create value and their own personal designs
Use found objects as mediums of art and play
To create a personal floral work based on the elements of art
Hone dexterity for working with various tools such as pencil, paintbrush and scissors.
